Raimo Vuorinen
Dr. Raimo Vuorinen works as Project manager at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research. In 2007-15 he was the Co-ordinator of the European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network, ELGPN which assisted the European Union Member States and the Commission in moving European cooperation on lifelong guidance forward in both the education and the employment sectors.
The purpose was to promote cooperation at Member State level on lifelong guidance and to propose appropriate structures and support mechanisms in implementing the priorities identified in the Resolutions on Lifelong Guidance (2004, 2008).


His research interest is on evidence based lifelong guidance policy development as well as on the use of ICT in guidance. He is also an Adjunct associate professor at the Faculty of Social and
Human Sciences School of Social Sciences, Gimli University of Iceland, Affiliate Professor with the Faculty of education and the Centre for Labour Studies at University of Malta, a Research Associate with Florida State University’s Center for the Study of Technology in Counseling and Career Development and an International Fellow in the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling, NICEC. He is an Excecutive Board member and Vice-President of the International Association for Vocational and Educational Guidance, IAEVG , a Board member of the International Centre for Career Development and Public Policies, ICCDPP.
Karen Schober
Karen Schober is a sociologist who has worked from 1970-2008 as a researcher, administrator and head of the department for career guidance and career orientation at the German Public Employment Service. From 2002-2007, Karen was a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group on Lifelong Guidance and from 2007 – 2015 a member in the German delegation of the European Lifelong Guidance Policy Network (ELGPN).

Since 2006, she is President of the German National Guidance Forum in Education, Career and Employment (Nationales Forum Beratung, nfb), a network for the advancement of guidance and counselling in these areas. The nfb was founded in a European context. Its objectives are based on the recommendations of the two EU Council Resolutions on Lifelong Guidance “Strengthening Policies, Systems and Practices on Guidance throughout Life” and “Better integrating Lifelong Guidance into Lifelong Learning Strategies”. From 2007 - 2015, Karen also served as Vice-President of the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance (IAEVG/AIOSP).
